Luke is starting to pick up on this thing called basketball. He dominated today's game from the offensive end, scoring all six of his team's baskets. Needless to say he was very proud of himself. The only thing I wasn't happy about was not getting more footage. I did manage to get a little tape on my phone. Of course I wasn't thinking about how it would playback online, so the footage is on its side. Both videos show Luke scoring a basket.
After the game we enjoyed a 90-minute birthday party for Crew and Quin at My Gym. Both kids were wiped out by the time we got home at 7. Tomorrow is another long day with Grandma and a Super Bowl party. I'm guessing we'll all want to go to bed early.

Luke Working on the Jumper
I have some footage from Luke's game yesterday. Unfortunately the warm up shot is the best I have, as most of his team's action was on the other side of the court. I'll add more once I have it loaded.
Good looking shot. Now we need to work on defense, dribbling, and passing.

Holiday Recap
It's been a long while since we updated anything on the blog. I'm not sure where time goes. We had an excellent holiday season. Jenny enjoyed a nice stretch off from working, the kids were thoroughly spoiled by Santa (and grandparents) and we got a white Christmas. Unfortunately we can't seem to shake the snow, which is keeping the kids from enjoying most of the gifts they got this year. Luke was lucky enough to get a new bike, roller blades, and an assortment of basketballs. Mae got her own Dora scooter (no more Spider-Man) and a set of roller derby pads. The family also got a special gift in the combination of Band Hero and Guitar Hero 5. Dad thought it might be a good gift for the family, but it seems to be more for mom and dad.
Here are some pictures from the holidays and early winter months. We'll post more through the winter. I'll also try and get some video posted of Luke's basketball games and Mae causing havoc.
Why not a picture of Mom and Dad first. Not a bad shot of us as we prepared for the chaos of Christmas Eve at Grandma's house.
This is the best we could do with the kids on Christmas. It's a pretty good picture. Funny how Mae is looking at Luke so adoringly....if only you heard the day to day fighting. I'll have to get around to posting the outtakes.
Roller derby babe! That's right - helmet, gloves, elbow pads, and knee pads. Cole next door better watch himself.
Grandpa and Luke is his KU gear. I think he is now capable of piecing together an outfit where every piece has a KU logo or Jayhawk. Ironically he tells me he's going to be a KSU Wildcat when he grows up because Cats are real.
Notice the hat? That's the Christmas morning at Grandma's. We received the hat during gift opening the night before. The ball also travels with him.

Random Summer/Early Fall Pics
Luke on his first day of school. He's really having a good time in kindergarten.
Mae on her way to the Bahamas. She was happy here. Later photos would show much displeasure at being forced to sit for a few hours.

Luke at the Great Wolf Lodge. I think Luke might tell you this was the single greatest day of his life.

Uh, well, apparently kids do watch their parents... Thankfully it's closed.

The kids on the sandy beaches of Coco Cay.

Mid-Summer Photos
Things have been quite busy here in KC. Luke finished playing soccer and is now into T-Ball. Mae is growing quickly and is terrorizing the neighborhood. Hopefully things will wind down for the next couple of weeks before Luke starts kindergarten.

Luke running away from the sprinkler. I'm not sure how to classify his running style, but it's always animated.

Mae passed out after spending the day with Grandma and Grandpa. She woke shortly after these shots and was ready for a little 4th of July fun.
Dad and Luke getting ready to leave for the K. We had great seats right behind the third-based dugout. Luke was lucky enough to get a ball from the umpire as they left the field.

Mom and Luke before leaving for the K. Luke really liked the fact that he got mom and dad one-on-one for the evening.

Mae and her neighbor buddy Cole found a dirt pile. For some reason Mae came out much dirtier than Cole.

Jenny Spends more Time on Facebook....
Which makes it difficult to update this blog. That and we're busy. Things are settling down. We're in our house, the kids are in school, and Luke is playing soccer. T-ball is up next. We have great neighbors and feel right at home. A few pictures from the last month or so...

Mae with her first egg on Easter morning. We're great parents - allowing Luke and Mae to enjoy candy for breakfast.

Luke as serious about the egg hunt. He wanted to be sure he found he majority of eggs, and that he got to keep them. It was at this point that he tried to convince me that he should have a few more eggs from Mae's basket because one of her eggs was larger than any he had collected.

Mae wearing Luke's underwear and holding his "clone trooper gun." That's daddy's girl.

And one last one... an action shot. Luke running away from the ball and the coach. I can't help but be proud. On a high note, Luke did put one in the goal during the 2nd game of the season. T-Ball is up next.
