We're Back...... This Time from Detroit!

Well, not really Detroit. We've finally made it to Michigan (Birmingham, MI to be precise) and we're starting to get settled. The new house is fantastic. Luke has said more than once that he never wants to leave home. Of course this house is about twice as big as the last and his room is pretty darn cool. Mae has had a difficult time. She was here less than a week and had to make a visit to the doctor. We thought ear infection, doctor claims she's cutting four teeth. Either way, it's been heck on all of us. Oh, and she got her first fat lip the first weekend in town. I'm not sure I've seen that much blood in a long while. Mommy's robe might be ruined ;).

Otherwise, we seem to be settling in nicely. The nanny is starting to take control, and we're getting Luke involved in things outside the house. Today was his first day of Jimi Hendrix.... or gymnastics to you and me.

Here are some pictures of the chaos. We promise to update more often now that we are in a far and distant land. One thing to note is all the snow in the background. We got about 6" 24 hours after we arrived.

This is one cute kid. Mae smiling before we left Leawood; she is becoming quite independent when it comes to dinner time.

Luke showing off his new tattoos. He classified himself in a number of different ways, including rock star and tough guy. Those tats stayed on his arms for about 2 weeks.

Mae really likes the phone. She instantly puts any cell phone or play phone up to her ear to call back to Kansas.

Bath time in mommy and daddy's bathroom. Luke loves the jets in the jacuzzi tub. We've been forced to use our batch since the kid's bathtub drain doesn't do a good enough job of keeping the water in the tub.

Last photo is the moment before Mae got her first fat lip. She had great fun getting in the cabinet, but the dismount ended with her face down on the hardwoods. We had wonderful bloodstains from the kitchen to the stairs. She's much better now.

That's all for now. We'll get more pictures on this weekend. We have a bunch. Next week we'll try and get some shots of Luke at gymnastics.
